Bitchin Sewing Machine

August 24, 2007

When it comes to getting me things from Costco, my boy Manny has it down. I got my new Brother XR-7700 sewing machine last week. I almost love it as much as my laptop. (sorry laptop…no, really, it’s you that i love…shhhhh)

I can’t really sit at it too long with my gimpy back, but I’m gonna set it up high and sew at it standing up. Cause that’s how I roll. X-treme sewing.

This is the skirt I made last week – it’s from an Amy Butler pattern, Barcelona Skirts. It’s a great pattern, very easy to follow. It has these raw-edged layers, lined, with a invisible zipper. Sort of a de-constructed, would cost $150 at Anthropologie type skirt.

Dingle-ball cherry curtains

My friend Linda gave me some cute cherry fabric so I made curtains for the kitchen. I also used my favorite craft trim: dingle balls (actually they’re called pom-poms but who cares).
